The short version
- These terms apply when you use our website, open an account, place an order or give us blades to service.

This agreement
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Double R Sharpening ("we", "us"), a Pennsylvania business at 18915 Brake Shoe Road, Meadville, PA 16335. They apply when you use doublersharpening.com, create an account, place an order, or give our drivers or shop blades or tools to service. If you do these things for a company, you're agreeing for that company and confirm you're allowed to.
These terms include our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds, Shipping & Delivery, Disclaimer and Acceptable Use policies. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our services. You must be at least 18.
Section 14 says disputes are settled by individual arbitration instead of in court, and that you give up class actions and jury trials. Please read it.
Your account
- Give us true, current information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for fraud or misuse, or puts the site or other people at risk.
Store orders, prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars and can change at any time. Sales tax is added where required, and shipping or freight charges are shown or quoted separately.
- We try to show products, measurements and pictures accurately, but mistakes happen. If a price or detail is wrong, we may correct it and cancel or adjust the order, even after you've paid. If we cancel, we'll refund what you paid for it.
- An order is accepted when we confirm or ship it. We may refuse or limit any order, for example if an item is out of stock or the order looks fraudulent.
- We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and the other methods shown at checkout. By ordering, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the full amount.
- Account customers are billed by invoice and agree to pay by the due date shown on it.
Custom orders
Custom orders (blades, knives or tooling made or modified to your specifications) are built from the measurements, specs and quantities you give us or approve. Please check them carefully. We're not responsible for problems caused by wrong or incomplete specs that you supplied or approved. Because custom items are made for you, they can't be cancelled once work or ordering has started, and they can't be returned except for a defect in our workmanship.
Sharpening and service work
- We inspect every blade we receive. Sharpening, hammering and retipping remove or change material, so blades wear down over time. Some blades may be too worn, cracked or damaged to service safely. If so, we'll let you know and may return them unserviced.
- We're not responsible for damage, cracks, wear or hidden defects that were already there when we received a blade, or for blades that fail because of how they were used.
- If a blade is lost or damaged through our fault while it's in our care, we'll choose to repair it, replace it with a comparable blade, or credit you its reasonable used value. That is our full responsibility for the blade.
- Tell us about any problem with our work as soon as you notice it, before using the blade again, so we can look at it. Blades that have been run after you noticed a problem, or that someone else has worked on, may not be covered.
- Service is billed at our current rates, which are on your invoice. The counts on our pickup forms and receipts are the record of what we picked up and delivered unless you tell us about a mistake promptly.
Pickup, delivery and shipping
Our route schedules, delivery dates and shipping times are estimates, not guarantees. Once we deliver blades or orders to the place you've agreed with us (or hand a shipment to the carrier), they're your responsibility. See Shipping & Delivery for details.
Safe use of blades
Saw blades, knives and teeth are dangerous. You're responsible for installing, inspecting and running everything you buy from us or have us service: follow the machine and blade manufacturers' instructions, never go over the rated speed (RPM), keep guards in place, and make sure operators are trained and wear proper safety gear. Inspect every blade before use and don't use one that looks cracked, bent, damaged or wrongly fitted.
Using this website
Use the site only for lawful purposes and as our Acceptable Use Policy allows. We may change, pause or stop any part of the site at any time, and we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Our content
The site's text, pictures, logos, catalogues and code belong to us or the companies that licensed them to us. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but you may not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission. If you send us feedback, reviews or ideas, we may use them without paying you.
Other companies' sites and services
The site links to and uses other companies' services, such as payment processors, sign-in providers, carriers and manufacturers' catalogues. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products or policies. Your use of them is between you and them.
No other promises
Except for what these terms say directly, and to the fullest extent the law allows, the website and our products and services are provided "as is" and "as available". We make no other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Any manufacturer's warranty on a product comes from the manufacturer, not from us.
Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, machine downtime, lost production, or lost or damaged data, even if we were told they might happen.
- Our total responsibility for any claim about a product, service or this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific order or service the claim is about, or $100 if the claim isn't about something you paid for.
- These limits also apply to claims about unauthorized access to, or loss, theft or misuse of, information stored on or sent through our systems, unless the harm was caused by our gross negligence or deliberate misconduct.
Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Your responsibility to us
You agree to defend and repay us (including our owners, employees and drivers) for claims, losses and reasonable legal costs that come from your breaking these terms, misusing the site, your specs or instructions on a custom order, or how you or your employees install, run or maintain blades and equipment.
Settling disputes
- Talk to us first. If you have a problem, contact us and give us 30 days to try to fix it informally before starting any case.
- Arbitration. If we can't settle it, any dispute about these terms, our website, products or services will be settled by binding arbitration with the American Arbitration Association (AAA), under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, or its Consumer Arbitration Rules if you're a consumer. Arbitration will be held in or near Crawford County, Pennsylvania, or by phone or video. The arbitrator's decision can be entered as a judgment in any court with jurisdiction.
- Small claims. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court instead, if it qualifies.
- No class actions or jury trials. Claims can only be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, group or representative case. You and we both give up the right to a jury trial.
- Time limit. Any claim must be started within one year after it arises, or it's permanently barred, unless the law requires a longer period.
- If a court decides the class action waiver can't be enforced for a claim, that claim goes to court instead of arbitration (see section 15), and the rest of this section still applies.
Which law applies
Pennsylvania law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any matter that goes to court (and isn't in small claims court) will be heard only in the state courts of Crawford County, Pennsylvania, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
Everything else
- Changes: we may update these terms. The new version applies from the date at the top. For important changes we'll tell account holders by email or with a notice on the site. Orders already placed stay under the terms that applied when you placed them.
- Things outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by weather, road conditions, breakdowns, power or internet outages, supplier or carrier problems, illness, or anything else beyond our reasonable control.
- Electronic records: you agree that emails, online orders, electronic receipts and clicking "I agree" count as written and signed.
- Whole agreement: these terms and the policies they include are the entire agreement about their subject, unless we've signed a separate written agreement with your company. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to.
- Transfer: you can't transfer these terms to someone else without our permission. We may transfer them if the business changes hands.
